A portable application is a type of software that doesn't need to be installed onto a computer's permanent storage device in order to work. It can be kept on removable storage (such as a USB flash drive) and used on multiple computers. A portable environment, on the other hand, can have any application installed on it and serves as the presenting layer for all installed applications. |
